Description

CMS considers restraint and seclusion a critical deficiency. Hospitals are often out of compliance because restraint policy is one of the hardest to write and understand. Hospitals must follow CMS restraint and seclusion guidelines if a facility owns a TJC, AOA, CIHQ, or DNV Healthcare accreditation. During this program, our expert will simplify the 50 pages of CMS restraint and seclusion interpretive guidelines and the proposed changes in the Hospital Improvement Act, while providing a crosswalk to other accrediting standards.

All accrediting bodies require restraint training, and CMS mandates both orientation and ongoing education for all hospital staff. This program can be used to meet this requirement.
