Description

Stroke is one of leading causes of death and significant disability worldwide. Therefore, health care professionals should possess an understand of how to effectively manage stroke patients. This CEU reviews newly identified stroke risk factors in order to increase awareness among health care professionals and improve upon patient care. This CEU also presents a study highlighting the effectiveness of the Stroke Nursing Guideline (SNG), which was developed to provide an overview of evidence based recommendations for the daily nursing care and rehabilitation of patients with stroke.

Objectives

Identify stroke risk factors.
On completion of this course, the learner will be able to identify stroke risk factors.
Examine how sleep impacts stroke risk.
On completion of this course, the learner will be able to examine how sleep impacts stroke risk.
Review the impact, implementation and feasibility of the SNG.
On completion of this course, the learner will be able to review the impact, implementation and feasibility of the SNG.
